CPYT Presents Hadestown: A Daring Journey to the Underworld
A modern myth brought to life by young performers
The talented young performers of Centrestage Productions Youth Theatre are proud to present Hadestown, the multi-award-winning musical by Anaïs Mitchell that intertwines two timeless tales of love, loss, and hope.
Performances will take place from 29th October – 1st November 2025 at The Rose Theatre, Barton Peveril College, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 5ZA.
Hadestown invites audiences on a thrilling, soulful journey to the underworld, reimagining the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone.
With its rich, jazz-infused score, poetic lyrics, and powerful storytelling, the musical explores the question at the heart of humanity: can love overcome fear and darkness?
“Bringing Hadestown to life with young performers is an extraordinary experience,” said Mike Mullen, director of the CPYT production. “The story’s themes; hope in the face of adversity, the power of creativity, and the courage to challenge injustice resonate profoundly with our young cast and our audiences alike.”
Featuring a talented ensemble of local young people, CPYT’s Hadestown promises a bold, imaginative retelling that showcases the passion and artistry of emerging performers. Expect outstanding vocals, inventive choreography, and the trademark energy that CPYT brings to every production.
